Boston, MA – April 2, 2025 – Tempo, a leader in project, program, and portfolio management solutions, today announced its Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) platform.

The new release, Allegro, introduces powerful workflow capabilities across Tempo’s product suite, insights that enable dynamic plan refinements, and deeper integrations with leading work management platforms.

"In today’s fast-moving business landscape, teams and enterprises benefit enormously from the promise of strategic portfolio management but are often challenged by the burden of implementation, change management, and adoption,” said Vic Chynoweth, chief executive officer at Tempo.

"Our flexible, modular approach enables teams and enterprises to quickly gain traction and realize value – and to grow the scope and value at their own pace.”

Tempo’s SPM platform offers an integrated suite of cloud-based solutions that increase the value, usability, and extensibility of work management platforms like Jira. Delivered in a uniquely modular and flexible architecture, the platform allows enterprises to efficiently adapt and maximize their journey to strategic portfolio management through:

  • Persona-based workflows: Provides a range of persona-specific workflows for everyone from executives to teams, supporting any way of working – agile, waterfall, or hybrid. Customers now benefit from the adaptability and speed of agile methods, with the known structure and clarity of waterfall.

  • Analytics and insights: Unifies data from Tempo and third-party tools, like Power BI, to deliver real-time insights that accelerate decision-making and drive portfolio success.

  • Integrations: Features an open architecture that seamlessly connects with Atlassian, ServiceNow, Microsoft Azure DevOps, and other tools to simplify portfolio workflows and extend existing work management ecosystems.

New capabilities added to the Allegro release being launched April 9th include:

  • Adaptive Planner: Enables teams to innovate quickly by building new plans or adjusting existing ones based on changes in strategy or market conditions. This new capability, currently in Tempo’s early adopter program, uses AI to help develop what-if scenarios and inform dynamic adjustments to plans based on changes to priorities, capacity, and other constraints.

  • Hybrid project management: Adds new agile capabilities to combine multiple project management approaches into a single solution, offering compatibility and clarity of responsibilities across all types of projects. Story point planning, sprint-level forecasting, and capacity planning enable users to support agile and waterfall methods side by side.

  • Idea Manager: Simplifies the alignment of strategic investments with real customer needs. Teams can collect, rank, and respond to customer ideas using a unified portal – helping organizations plan and deliver customer-centric solutions.

  • Rovo Agents: Enables Atlassian Jira users to simplify complex tasks using AI and natural language. Tempo’s seven Rovo agents help users save time and boost productivity.
